Natsuki listened to the younger appearing boy as he mentioned his friends and then he pondered. That made him wonder: would his friends ever come to visit him while he was here? His thoughts were broken as the tealette began to smile again.
This reaction brought Natsuki’s smile to his face. He loved it most when other people smiled. He couldn’t help it that he was always smiling… it was something that always felt so right, so comforting.
“Ne, you should make it a habit to smile more~ It will make you feel better,” he started before poking his cheek with his uncasted hand, “you get used to face hurting from smiling too much.”
The blonde chuckled gently at himself and then waved at Aine, “It was nice getting to meet you Aine-chan~ I hope we can meet again some day~!” he said as he held out Piyo to him, “And don’t forget Piyo-chan~ He’ll help you practice smiling.”
“Good luck with your appointment too!” The blonde called one last time as the tealette began to head toward the door now. He could feel his heart sink slightly; it was about to get quiet and lonely again. Maybe he could call a nurse in here to talk or play silly games with.
“Piyo-chan… still belongs to you,” Aine suddenly said, stopping before he was out of the room. “If it’s borrowing, then I will bring him back when I visit you again.” He turned to face back Natsuki with a smile, holding Piyo-chan.
“I can visit you again… right, Natsuki-kun? Because we’re friends now… right?” Although Aine quite disliked the hospital, he wouldn’t mind if his checkups were like this. Visiting a friend after his appointment would be rewarding. Some part of him felt hopeful; happier in this dreary place he wanted to forget and leave.
