Lost and Found [Aine & Suzuko]

suzukokoro:

Suzuko held onto the book, heading into the first office she came across but frowning when no one was around. She didn’t want to just leave it in case someone took it and the item would be lost again. The girl debated for a while, standing by the doorway before peeking out and looking for any sign of a teacher. But the hallway was empty, or at least what she could see of it was.

She had no classes to attend, but she didn’t particularly feel like waiting around all afternoon for someone to come along and make note of the book being handed in. “I suppose I could wait for a little while…” Suzuko shrugged and took a seat near one of the desks.

Her finger traced down the spine of the book as she placed it onto the desk in front of her. There was always that temptation to read but thankfully she was able to resist and distract herself by grabbing a piece of paper and a pen and start to write a note regarding the book, just in case she had to leave it. She wasn’t going to wait forever.

“Ah… I’ve been running everywhere all day,” Aine sighed and took a heavy breath, trying to regain his energy. “I should never be careless like this ever again.”

Walking down the hall towards the office, his thoughts wandered to the contents of his journal. It was definite that someone had found it and taken. Had they read into it? There was nothing shameful or private in it.

Aine closed his eyes to remember the first entry he had written.

“Today, I will begin writing. I’m writing this because I don’t want to forget everything again. For me, and for the future.

My name is Kisaragi Aine.

I don’t know if it’s fate or a coincidence that a song woke me up from my coma.

But I know for sure…

Music fills my heart.”

“I hope I find it soon…” Aine murmured quietly, walking around a corridor. The signs on the hallway pointed down to where the offices were. He briskly walked faster, hoping his lost object would be there. As soon as he arrived, the tealette tapped the door gently.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” he asked quietly, and debated whether he should peek in the through the crack of the door.
