‘I’m Aine Kisaragi…’ 

Aine…Aine…Aine…

It kept repeating in his mind, hitting him over and over again as the word tried to implant itself into Reiji’s consciousness. He  knew what he heard, but he could believe it. He can see the truth before his eyes, see that this person before him who looks so much like Ai is in fact the original Aine Kisaragi. The original Aine Kisaragi who had disappeared years ago because of his mistake.

A choked sound escaped Reiji’s lips as he dropped Aine’s hand. Wide eyed, he stumbled back a step, not even sure what to do or what to say. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was to just drop on his knees and start apologizing like no tomorrow, but there was one thing preventing him. 

‘Kotobuki-san. I don’t know you,’

He doesn’t remember. He doesn’t remember me. 

Reaching out with a steadying hand, Reiji grasp the nearby table edge and guided himself to fall into a chair. He looked down at the table and nervously threaded his fingers through his hair, his hands shaking. He should tell the truth, he should confess. However, when Reiji finally looked up, he put on a fake smile and said only three words.

“Sorry, my mistake~”

“Are you alright, Kotobuki-san?” Aine asked, a bit worried when the brunette stumbled back a little, however landing into a seat. 

The tealette closely glanced at the brunette, trying to remember where he heard his name from. It was from a conversation with his senpai.

“Now I remember… Camus-senpai told me you are part of his unit, QUARTET ★ NIGHT, and the senior of Tokiya Ichinose and Otoya Ittoki.”

He gave a little smile and did a slight bow in greeting to the senior.

“It’s alright, Kotobuki-san. You aren’t the first to have mistaken me for Mikaze. Please let me introduce myself properly.”

“My name is Aine Kisaragi, age 25. I used to work as an idol here before I got into some accident and lost my memories… Kotobuki-san, is something wrong?”

He tilted his head and curiously glanced at Reiji, who studied him intently for some reason. Why was the brunette acting so… off now? A moment ago, the other man had an energetic personality.
