“Set the mood, and tell him, Kisaragi… otherwise he’ll never know you feel the same about him.”
“If only it was easy as you said, Aijima-kun,” Aine sulked, resting himself against the trunk of the cherry blossom tree near the dorms. He was exhausted, tired from the past week of trying to tell Natsuki his true feelings that his roommate Cecil had allowed him to realize.
However, obstacles threw themselves in his way. Mikaze, Natsuki’s senpai threatened Aine stay away from his kouhai. Ringo, Natsuki’s teacher, took every chance to make the blonde stay back after school to do some favors. And Otoya, Natsuki’s classmate and fellow bandmate, purposely took Natsuki away from him in their spare time. All three of them never gave him a chance to speak with the young male privately.
“Everyone else doesn’t want me to tell Natsuki-kun, just when I’ve finally realized what my heart wants…”

“I suppose I had it coming, breaking Natsuki’s heart in the first place…” Aine clenched his fist, shaking it at his own heartlessness and selfishness. He should have tried to be with Natsuki in the first place ever since the blonde confessed to him at prom; but Aine ran away, afraid that he would hurt the other more if he didn’t reciprocate his feelings in the end.
He tried picking his dream over love, but only came to a realization.
All this time… why didn’t he notice he loved Natsuki Shinomiya’s gentleness and wanted it more? Why?
“I’m so stupid… I loved him ever since I started to trust him.”
He probably didn’t deserve to be with Natsuki. Even Natsuki’s shadow, Satsuki, didn’t trust Aine. The tealette blinked drowsily, remembering Satsuki’s words at his last confession attempt, which accidentally drew out the darker personality.
“What if you break his heart again?”

“I… Maybe I should just give up,” Aine mumbled to himself. He closed his heavy eyelids, ready to pass out from sleepless nights and futile attempts.
“A selfish person like me doesn’t deserve to be with such a kind, bright person…”
