Ai didn’t know what this meeting was going to be like. There were so many possibilities he’d thought of, but the android had done his best to wave them away as he finally stood face to face with the other man, Aine Kisaragi. The former idol he’d been designed off of; the person he shown that the world was not as bad as it seemed to be.
As he stood there after his introduction, Ai stared in hesitation. He wasn’t sure what kind of response the former idol would give him. It was only when a smile found its way on the other’s lips that the android could feel his own lips reflect in making the smile on his own lips twitching wider.
It was almost surreal to see such an expression on a face he was so used to seeing in a slumbering state. Such a gentle expression suited the other very well.
Upon being beckoned, Ai made his way toward the other male, only leaning in slightly to read what was written in the journal. Eyes widening slightly at the very end, looking at Aine’s face slightly after.
Aine had wanted to see him since then?
The notion had taken him by surprise slightly, but it made sense and soon the tealet’s widened eyes softened and so did his expression. Soon the smile found its way to the android’s lips once more as he gave a small nod of his head in response
“I am… quite glad we are finally capable of doing so.” His tone was delicate as he spoke the the other, making certain his voice did not raise too high in fear of startling the other. After all, he still wasn’t certain what audible levels were comfortable for the other male. It would be a true shame if their first conversation like this would end in one being startled by speaking tone.
“Ah… I hope you do not mind my asking but has your recovery process been well for you?”
Ai really could pass off as a little brother to him of some sorts.
The older man almost laughed at that fact quietly as he looked over his double again. If it wasn’t for the ponytail and a sterner yet innocent look in the boy’s eyes, he might as well been his own twin rather.
Aine could sense the awkwardness from the other upon first meeting his ‘original’ for the first time and he didn’t blame him.
He himself would have felt the same, uncomfortable with the fact he had a robot modeled after his face, voice, and career.
But since watching over the growing android from within his sleep, as well as sharing a lingering bond between their souls… he felt an endearment for the younger. Despite the strange situation they lived in now as two halves to the same coin, he knew that Ai wasn’t him or trying to be.
However, they were both uncertain of their lives. Now that he was awake, Aine was sure that the other was uncertain of his role now that it was achieved. He himself still had to come to terms of living in Ai’s shadow now, as well as the death of his career. And he still lacked the courage to face his old friends who were searching for him.
Both of them were the puppets in this dramatic play fate had laid on them. And all these uncertainties made them still dance at fate’s cruel whims. Especially the loss of his voice, which hit him the hardest.
Smiling sadly, the former idol nodded at the android. He flipped to a new page in his journal to write his response.
「 Hakase told me in a few months I would be able to be back on my feet again. I’m looking forward to that very much. 」
「 But as for my voice… he said it may be gone forever.
」
He paused, noticing his handwriting had began to look shaky. He gave a quiet sigh, placing his other hand over his writing one to calm down. Slowly, he finished writing his message, placing down the pen.
「 It’s taken me far too long enough to accept this… but I have to accept it now, Ai. I can’t be an idol anymore. Those days are over for me.」
