//outofdreams; so recently one of my friends was able to summarize to me Ai’s memorial from ASAS “Hakase and Ai”. It takes place post-Ai route.
What I was able to learn from it:
- Hakase left his parents a long time ago and lost touch with them
- The only family Hakase had left was with his brother and his brother’s wife (Aine’s parents) but “that relationship had become neglected”
- Aine’s parents are alive, but “ever since Aine’s light faded, it was as if time had stopped for them.”
welp it looks like i gotta debunk that theory aine’s parents are dead but i’m glad aine has another home to return to
//outofdreams: I don’t think I’ve talked about Aine’s loss of voice much despite it being my main verse. I left the reasons for it a bit vague, but it comes from a combination of a lot of things:
Neurological problems: Judging from the time he had entered his coma (5+ years) and the way he did, it’s likely for him to have neurological problems waking up. Unfortunately for him, he may have anarthria, which is the total loss of speech. That’s why he mulls over it in different roleplays that it’s very unlikely/impossible for his voice to return.
Emotional trauma: Aine was under a lot of pressure when he disappeared, and the whole situation traumatized him to lose his voice upon waking up. While Aine waking up means he acknowledges that being an idol isn’t scary anymore, he’s still completely hesitant and afraid of being an idol again and his loss of voice represents that.
tldr; Aine’s mute because of coma aftereffects and emotional trauma. I like doing this verse for more angst and to inconvenience my muse rip — edit: this is all a headcanon not actually Aine information but who knows what broccoli could do in the future (^:
